Well - The day has finally arrived, I finally get to check out the Hotel Costa Caleta in Caleta De Fuste. I will be in the air in less than 4 hours.

Strike at Liverpool Airport

I heard yesterday that there Staff at Liverpool Airport have voted 9:1 against the proposed pay rise. Not sure id this will affect my flight from the airport.

Not long now!!

Well It is Sunday Morning. Mandi and I are Well hungover following a night without the kids.
I have packed my suitcase because I will be flying to Fuerteventura on Tuesday Lunchtime.

Booking Holiday for May 2008

In July 2007 we decided to plan our 2008 holidays. For the last 2 years we went to Caleta De Fuste in the Easter School holidays - however Easter is getting earlier and earlier - so this year we decided to go away in Whit holidays (May). After a relatively short search, I got in touch with Jane at Sollymar Villas. She sent me some information on a villa that wasnt built yet.

However - We liked the look of it and decided to book anyway.

Caleta De Fuste 2007

During our Holiday in 2006, we saw some really nice Villas. They had Private swimming pools and jacuzzis. We looked into it a little and recieved some advice that VIP Villas (2) and (3) were the best two because in addition to the fantastic facilities, they had great sea views and were closer to the town and beach.

We booked through Solmar Villas and booked the 3 bedroomed Villa so that the kids could have separate bedrooms. Later we realised that the third bedroom was actually in an annexe ( or granny flat) which was detached from the main Villa. Therefore we decided it was unsafe for one of the children to sleep in it. (See below)


We decided to invite my mother in law for the 1st week so that the "Granny Flat" wasnt a complete waste of money.
We also booked our xl.com flights through Solmar Villas but could have saved hundreds by booking them directly (you live and learn)

We also paid for transfers from the Airport to the Villa. This was very handy. When we got to the Villa, we were amazed. It looked great.

Oh did I mention the Pool room and Bar downstairs - with a third bathroom and Jacuzzi and 2 double sofa beds ???

Caleta De Fuste 2006

In 2006 we took our first Family Holiday abroad.

We went to Fuerteventura and stayed in the Caleta Dorada Bungalows in Caleta de Fuste.

It was a great holiday. We made new friends, Loved the town and beach.

First Choice ran a FANTASTIC kids club and looked after our 2 children either 3 or 4 times a day for one to two hours and agreed to return the following year.
